From the moment you are pulled over by police for a DUI, you are put on the defensive. You are asked about your drinking, put through a series of sobriety tests under threat of forfeiting your license, and finally placed under arrest.
Now your driving privileges could be taken away, and you may face jail, steep fines and a long list of other penalties and consequences. It may seem like there is no way out of your predicament, but the case against you is not as airtight as the prosecution would like you to believe.
With everything at stake, you need experienced and aggressive DUI defense lawyer. You need Steven Wetter, Attorney at Law. Contact us day or night for a free consultation.
Steven Wetter is a former state prosecutor. From years of building cases against people arrested for driving under the influence, he knows how to crumble the facade brick by brick. As a DUI defense lawyer serving Fort Myers, Cape Coral and surrounding Florida communities for 10 years, he has handled every scenario and every aspect of DUI:
- First-time or repeat DUI
- Juvenile DUI
- DUI for drugs or medications
- DUI accidents resulting in serious injury or death
- DUI on a commercial driver’s licenses (CDL)
- BUI (boating under the influence)
- Refusal of the Breathalyzer
- License suspension hearings
The potential penalties for conviction on a first offense of DUI may include loss of license for six months, fines, probation, community service, DUI school and possible jail time. In addition to the court-imposed penalties, you face higher car insurance rates and the baggage of a misdemeanor criminal record.
If your blood-alcohol content was .15 or greater (aggravated DUI), the court can also require an ignition interlock device at your expense. If you refused the breath test, your license will be suspended for one year, with no hardship license available. If this is your second DUI within five years, mandatory jail and a one-year license revocation apply.
Steven had ALL the charges dismissed. OUTSTANDING!!
Steven Wetter prosecuted hundreds of DUI cases as an assistant state attorney in Tampa, and he has been lead trial attorney in more than 100 jury trials as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. He knows how to find flaws in the traffic stop, the field sobriety tests, the arrest and the chemical test results.
Through tough cross-examination and successful motions to suppress evidence, Mr. Wetter has turned the tables on the prosecution and the arresting officer to position his clients for dismissal of charges, a plea to lesser charges such as reckless driving, or the best chance of winning at trial.
